I have been a member of CrossFit Kitchener (CFK) for almost 10 years. As a Commercial Insurance Broker, I was there to try to figure out what CrossFit was. I joined for a month and when I went back to the Y (I told Jo that I thought CrossFit was too expensive for me!), I felt like a lost soul, not knowing anyone’s name, and seeing everyone watching TV, reading or listening to music while strolling on a treadmill. The classes no longer felt challenging after having drank the kool aid at CFK, so I went back and joined for the year! I love the challenging workouts and the trainers are great! The community and the vibe is amazing and has to be experienced. The quality programming and trainers continue to be top notch amid inevitable changes.
It’s a place that we can all call home, whether you are young, old or in between, a competitive athlete, or someone wanting to get fit or stay fit. My fitness journey is very important to me, and at 55, I continue to make gains. I can climb a 15’ rope, double under with the best of ‘em and have a 215 pound deadlift. My daughter Amanda has recently joined and she has motivated me to show up on a more regular basis. There are many families that work out together at CFK making it a truly great place for family, friends and fitness. I look forward to the next 10 years!
