Good Luck in Hanover Beckie and family! We’ll miss you!
Five years ago I started the on ramp program at Crossfit Kitchener in an effort to get a bit more cardio. I had been lifting weights and competing in Strongman, but with my wedding coming up, I hoped adding more cardio would help shed a few more pounds. I had looked at a few other gyms, but my husband and I knew running on a treadmill or using an eliptical just wasn’t for me. Since that first workout, I was hooked. Crossfit was different enough to keep me motivated, and the right mix of weights and cardio. I went 3-4 times a week, and eventually even started going to the running group. Along my crossfit journey I have met many awesome coaches (even if I did grumble about some of their warm ups.) They always had great suggestions for modifications while my shoulders recovered from injury, and when my pregnancy no longer allowed for certain lifts. More importantly though, I have met so many amazing athletes. The people at the 6pm class (and occasional5pm class) never failed to inspire me, and were always there to enourage me. Although I am looking forward to it, I am also sad to be moving next weekend. I want to say thank you to everyone for their encouragement along my journey, and to let anyone who is interested know that I will be doing one final work out on Thursday, March 31 at 6pm.
